How Random Acts of Kindness Help You Grieve, Heal, and Love It Forward

Keep your Loved One’s goodness traveling out into the world in all kinds of creative ways. As one of the many soulful and intentional items in both of our Condolence Boxes, our Random Act of Kindness cards allow you to honor your Loved One while doing a random good deed! Doing something - anything kind or positive - in honor of your Loved One keeps the best of them alive and spreads their love and energy out into to the world. And you’d be amazed at how connected to them you feel every time you do this small, simple, yet powerful thing. We like anonymity [do the act, leave the card] to enhance the power of it being from your Loved One, although sticking around to tell a good story about the best of them can be magical as well. RAK cards come in a microfiber carrying pouch [perfect for in the car or a purse] so you’re always ready to love it forward for your special person. See below for some great Random Act of Kindness ideas and we’d love to hear yours!

Sure there’s ‘buy the person behind you in line their coffee drink’, but there are endless - and more personal - ways to honor your Loved One with random - and meaningful - acts of kindness to friends or strangers, that will keep the spirit of your loved one going and touch the hearts of others.

  • Pay off a child’s school lunch bill.

  • Donate flowers to a nursing home.

  • Send a care package to a servicemember through charitable organizations like Operation Gratitude.

  • Tip a hard working server a little extra.

  • Donate to or volunteer at an animal shelter.

  • Make a hopscotch on a sidewalk.

  • Buy a harangued cashier a little gift card.

  • Pay for the meal of the people at the next table (and leave before they figure it out)

  • Create some land art and invite others to join you.

  • Pay the toll (or some gas) for the car behind you.

  • Foster animals or volunteer at a rescue facility.

  • Bring a basket of goodies to your local fire or police station.

  • Clean up a section of road.

  • Offer to paint an elderly neighbor’s fence or house.

  • Bring good coffees to hospital or nursing home staff.

  • Donate a vacation or sick day to a colleague going through a rough time.

  • Buy a round for everyone at a local pub.

You get the idea, it doesn’t even have to cost money. Just be sure to leave behind an RAK card - just add your Loved One’s name, your gift or kindness, and a few details of what you loved about your Loved One m, and why they would love your RAK!

We’d love to see and hear about yours! #mourninggoods
